IT’S A TOILET, BELLS BEACH, AUSTRALIA – 2009
I love the colors here, and my other Bells Beach photography. During our short pit stop I got some great shots of local surfers, the ocean, and this public toilet. You can see the Great Ocean Road between the trees and over the hills. This photo may feel warm, but it was one cold Australian morning!

MOTHER EARTH, DEAD SEA, ISRAEL – 2006
The environment is a hot topic, no pun intended, and this decaying relic on the road from Jerusalem to the Dead Sea always reminds me of the fragility of it’s surroundings. Driving down to Eilat for a long weekend last week, the Dead Sea was hard to spot, the water is far from the roadside, explaining the seemingly misplaced warnings against unsupervised swimming where the tide used to meet the road. The graffiti on the side of this building is to the point, Respect Mother Nature. Let’s take care of this planet, who knows if there’s anywhere to go if we destroy it.

YEMIN MOSHE, JERUSALEM, 2008
This wasn’t one the days I spent walking around Jerusalem for photographic opportunities, I was using the backdrop of Yemin Moshe to shoot head shots for a client, when I turned around and saw this ultra orthodox family gazing out towards the Old City of Jerusalem. Right place, right time!

WAKE UP TO A SEA VIEW,
BE AT ONE WITH NATURE,
AND SURF!
Rather than waking up to the smell of fresh sea air, I wake up to the sound of our puppy needing his morning walk, but as Thanksgiving approaches and I think of all the things we accomplished in the last tweleve months, I can see that today is a different kind of perfect day. I won’t be on the beach, or walking through a rainforest to spot koalas today, I’ll work, and spend the evening with my beautiful wife in our new home, and know how blessed we are to have had our Australian Honeymoon before real life set in. Not every day can be a vacation, but we can do our best to make it feel like one.
Before you ask, no, I don’t surf.
